Early Career Funding Opportunities Workshop

Join the Office of Research Development for an introductory workshop on the wide variety of funding opportunities available to Early Career researchers and scholars. Faculty members from all disciplines are invited to attend.

In the opening session, our team will cover the advantages of applying for early career funding opportunities, how to find the right match for your area of expertise, common components and potential differences in the application requirements, and resources across FSU to help you prepare a competitive proposal.

Breakout groups will provide brief introductions to a sampling of major early career programs, with opportunities for Q&A. Some examples are below (not an exhaustive list):

  • NSF CAREER
  • Department of Defense Young Investigator Programs
  • Department of Energy Early Career Research Program
  • NIH K awards and MIRA for Early Stage Investigators
  • Pew Biomedical Scholars
  • Howard Hughes Medical Institute Freeman Hrabowski Scholars
  • American Council of Learned Societies Early Career Fellowships
  • Library of Congress Kluge Fellowships
  • Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award
  • Russell Sage Foundation Pipeline Grants Competition

Check-in begins at 8:30 am. Coffee and light breakfast will be provided. There will be time for networking with fellow early career faculty and opportunities to form peer review and writing groups.

Note: There are limited seats available for this in-person workshop. Sessions will not be recorded. Please only register if you are able to attend in person. 

A limited number of reserved parking passes are reserved for off-campus faculty. All available parking passes have been claimed at this time. Parking spaces will be located in the Traditions Way Parking Garage.
